Housefull 5A is one of the two distinct versions of the Bollywood comedy-mystery film Housefull 5, which was released with two alternate endings to encourage repeat viewing.

General Plot

• Premise: A wealthy billionaire, Ranjeet Dobriyal, dies on his luxury cruise ship after announcing his vast fortune will go to his son, "Jolly."

• Conflict: Three imposters—Julius (Akshay Kumar), Jalabuddin (Riteish Deshmukh), and Jalbhushan (Abhishek Bachchan)—arrive, each claiming to be Jolly to get the inheritance.

• The Mystery: Chaos erupts when the doctor set to perform the DNA test is murdered, making the three "Jollys" and others prime suspects in a chain of murders.

• Key Feature: The first two hours of Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B are largely identical; only the final 20 minutes/climax differ.

The Climax of Housefull 5A (SPOILER)

The "A" version identifies the following characters as the primary villains:

• Mastermind: Dev Dobriyal (Fardeen Khan), Ranjeet's son from his second wife, is the main conspirator. His motive is to keep the entire fortune for himself.

• Accomplice/Second Killer: Jalbhushan / Jolly 2 (Abhishek Bachchan) is his partner in crime, who carries out some of the murders.

• The Murders:

  • Dev killed the doctor to stop him from exposing Dev's attempt to tamper with the DNA test results.

  • Dev also killed Bedi when he discovered a piece of evidence.

  • Jalbhushan killed Captain Sameer as he was a witness to one of the crimes and attempted blackmail.

• The Real Jolly: In a cameo appearance at the very end, Bobby Deol is revealed to be the actual rightful heir, Jalal, who ultimately chooses to split the inheritance.
